Port Overview

Infrastructure & Power Generation

The BBI port and rail infrastructure is conveniently located close to existing road and energy infrastructure, which allows the construction and operation of gas fired power stations. BBI is planning on constructing two dual-fuel gas fired power stations at the port and rail load out loop. The port power station will be primarily fuelled by the Burrup Gas Line and will be supplemented by power from the grid via the Horizon Karratha to Port Hedland power line which traverses the port area. The rail load out loop power station will be fuelled via the Fortescue Rive gas pipeline and 66kV overhead power lines will follow the overland conveyor route to provide power to mining and ore processing facilitates.
